Sugar Maple Park Project

It was a pleasure to celebrate the grand opening of the new Sugar Maple Park on Baker Hill.
The Town of Stouffville has been working on this exciting project since Fall 2023, likely even longer, given the layers of approvals involved.
After attending the Community Engagement session in January 2024, we realized we had an opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way. For Little Monkeys Charity reached out to the Town of Stouffville project team to explore the possibility of incorporating an inclusivity element into the park’s design.
The team welcomed the idea, and we successfully secured funding from the WS Legacy Fund. Thanks to this support, we were able to donate a roller table to the new park that will help develop and enhance a variety of skills such as coordination, gross motor and body awareness all while providing proprioceptive input which helps regulate the nervous system.
In addition to the roller table, the park features other accessibility elements that will be a valuable addition to the community.
We are honoured to play a small role in this significant initiative and deeply appreciate the Legacy Fund’s support, as well as the Town of Stouffville’s dedication to fostering an inclusive environment for all.
Collaborating with the Town has been an absolute pleasure. Their commitment to involving the community ensures the project’s success and reflects the evolving needs of Stouffville residents.
